Team White Wins! TVA Confirms the Return of Révolution!

On Sunday night’s grand finale, our masters chose the big winners in the first edition of “Révolution”, during an amazing evening in which the artists pushed the limits of dance. The extremely talented brother/sister duo of Alexandre and Katerine Leblanc – a.k.a. Team White – were crowned Quebec’s top dancers and took home the $100,000 grand prize.

Four Magic Moments

In this ultimate show of the season, the four finalists were given carte blanche in a two-part final round. First off, C4, Charles-Alexis, Team White and Yoherlandy performed their own original creations for your masters. C4 projected themselves into old age with remarkable artistry; Charles-Alexis revealed his creative whimsy through contemporary choreography; Team White offered a legendary revolution in a completely off-the-wall number that saw them transform into spiders; and Yoherlandy gracefully evoked his joy of living in Quebec with the love of his life.

The two highest-scorers then went on to a final performance to crown the season’s winner. With an exceptional total of 99 points, Yoherlandy took the #1 spot, followed closely by Team White, with 95 points.

The Last Dance

For their last appearances on “Révolution”, the contestants surprised everyone with performances that demonstrated the true range of their talent. Complete with wooden spoons and plaid shirts, Team White offered a thoughtful, yet humorous performance accompanied by the music of La Bottine Souriante. And once again, Yoherlandy blew the audience away with the elegance and raw emotion of a dance performed to the rousing sound of Caruso.

Our astounded and proud dance masters – Lydia Bouchard, Les Twins and Jean Marc Généreux – then proceeded to the final vote of the season. That’s when Team White came out on top, after having transported us in totally distinct worlds in each of their performances.

Created by Quebecor Content and Fair-Play, “Révolution” is unquestionably the TV phenomenon of the fall season. Every week since September, the popular dance competition has given over 1 million viewers an opportunity to fall in love with this still little-known art form. Audiences were spellbound by amazingly talented artists who stepped out of the shadows in a wide range of genres. Thanks to their talent, originality, daring and personality, they proved that the world of dance could be accessible to everyone. Another factor in the show’s strong popularity is its revolutionary technology using 128 cameras, offering incredible 360-degree views – a world television premiere devised right here in Quebec! After such an engaging season, TVA is delighted to announce that this unifying variety show will be back next year for a second season. Muse Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse will return to accompany the dancers throughout their journey.

“We’re delighted to announce the return of Révolution, a show that has helped us discover, understand and enjoy dance. Many people were surprised at how emotional this discipline could be for them, and we’re thrilled that this high-level competition, developed locally by Quebecor Content and Fair-Play, has succeeded in generating so much excitement for dance in all its forms. We very much look forward to the second season of Dance Révolution in 2019.”
